When you book a stay at the Beach Retreats, you can feel assured that we have carefully considered all aspects of the current pandemic. We've made stays at the Beach Retreats contactless, so you can check-in to your private home in Woolacombe with peace of mind.

Our team will keep you updated on any changes that may apply to your stay as government guidelines adapt over the coming months. Where possible, we are happy to help reschedule your stay to different dates, should you need to following travel restrictions or a local lockdown. Please feel assured: we are dedicated to ensuring you have the time and space to be at your happiest on the coast.



Your guide to staying with us...

TLC: Tender Loving Care - it’s what we are famous for. But recently it has meant something different, and it is with your TLC in mind that we decided to keep the Beach Retreats closed throughout winter 2020. We hoped, that with this sacrifice, we could, in some small way, play our part in reducing the spread of COVID-19 and reduce the agony of yet further lockdowns into the New Year. Unfortunately this was not possible and we now know that these will continue until at least March 2021.


We are currently working from home and are available by email if you would like to book something to look forward to: beachretreats@woolacombe-bay-hotel.co.uk. We are taking bookings from 26th March 2021. Your stay can be rescheduled if required.

Ready for when we reopen, we have created our own bespoke Beach Retreats roadmap - so we all know what to expect and our part to play. We want you to have complete confidence in our high standards of cleanliness and procedures when you stay with us. From booking your stay to leaving home, traveling to Woolacombe, arrival and departure, this is your guide. 

This roadmap is a checklist of sorts, for both you and us - so you know all about the steps we are taking. It's not exhaustive, but it's a very good place to start if you are planning a stay or have one booked.



Before you arrive

  • We will contact you before your stay to ask you for some details, so your arrival can be as smooth as possible. Information required includes: make/model, colour and registration number of your vehicle

  • To allow for extensive cleaning between stays, your accommodation will be ready no earlier than 4pm. We kindly ask that you do not plan to arrive earlier than this time.

  • We recommend that you find the best route possible for your journey to Woolacombe, one that allows you suitable comfort breaks with open spaces within a safe environment.

  • Pack suitable soft drinks, water, food, hand sanitiser, wipes and disposable bags

  • Remember to bring face masks for every member of your party, they are a legal requirement when entering indoor public spaces such as our local shops or restaurants.

  • Due to reduced table capacity and seating times, we would recommend booking any dinner reservations in advance to avoid disappointment.
  • Your Beach Retreat will have received a thorough deep clean prior to your arrival. We have always taken pride in cleanliness and comfort, and now is no different.

On your arrival day

  • On your day of arrival our friendly Reservations Team will contact you with details of how to collect your key from the secure lock-box at your accommodation.
  • Our Reservations Team will be at the end of the phone to answer any questions you may have during your stay; please call 01271 870388.

Departure day

  • We ask you to vacate your Beach Retreat by 9am to allow for extensive cleaning between guests.
  • Please return your key to the secure lock-box location as you leave.

Whilst you are with us

  • We ask you to make use of the hand sanitising stations outside each Beach Retreat block along with regular hand-washing throughout your stay.
  • Please adhere to social distancing whilst using our Mini Lido area and be mindful of other guests at all times.
  • Whilst dining in any of our local restaurants/cafés please provide accurate track & trace information.
  • In the unlikely event that your accommodation has any maintenance issues during your stay, our mobile Maintenance Team can be contacted on 01271 870388. We will kindly ask you to vacate your Beach Retreat for a short time (30 mins - 1 hour) whilst any essential repair work is carried out.
